About Midnight

About midnight, pray and sing hymns to God, the other prisoners can hear you.

Acts 16:25

About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.

His answer:

On the final day of my ‘week of testimonies’ I was also given a gift! But first a revelation, an understanding, a clarity. A life changing move.

At 9pm He reminds me of my intercession calling and then gives me something that lays out my next steps, and my next breakthrough.

I have never been able to stay consistent for an extended period of time. I could not continue productivity once I’ve taken time off. The struggle would begin at a break – any break. This break would first go over the set time scale and this ‘break’ could last for days. Weeks. Months!!

Here’s an example cycle that I could get stuck in.

On a Saturday I would study, clean and cook. A brilliant day, so productive, goals achieved and I I’m so proud of myself.

Now here’s my Sunday:

That’s right.. nothing! First I’ll struggle to get up in the morning, then I’ll rush to Ramp church and have a blessed time. I’ll come home and take a little break. Now it’s 8:30pm and I’m rushing. to get ready for work tomorrow. Then I work all week, tired when I come home from work and want a weekend to myself. As you can quickly imagine, this would then roll over for weeks, which quickly turn to months.

Not long ago, I was gifted the Spirit of Excellence so now I’ve been studying, cooking, working, breathing like a BOSS 💅🏽 but I still need more help!

So as I’m minding my business scrolling YouTube adding things to my various, but very organised playlists I come across a poll from a channel I follow:

‘Which fast do you prefer? Daniel Fast, Elijah Fast or Esther Fast.

Question: What’s an Elijah fast?

Immediately, I start looking for more details- am being called to fast?

I find Pastor Carl Burmier’s ‘Study of Fasting The Elijah Fast 1 (Part 5) & 2 (Part 6)’. Suddenly I hear ‘diligence’, as I’m pondering this, Ps Carl says diligence! So obviously, before just asking for a Spirit of diligence I look further into it.

I would love a Spirit of diligence; but please, find out before you ask! Mark 10:35–34; James and John were martyred for Christ- be careful what you ask for! Here’s some more info and an explanation of the topic a little more curtesy of Working Preacher.

So I look for a video on the Spirit of Diligence and Bible Bujo’s video immediately sticks out to me. As I’m going through the list, I find I’ve got careful down, when I actually do something, now I need to allow the Spirit to work through me for persistence!

Persistence! This second very encouraging revelation, reminds me of the work required of me from the first revelation (intercession). He encouraged me at the time by reminding me, that I am not alone, if I need help I can look to Karen Wheaton’s testimony and be reminded of His might!
